Craftsman Automation Limited, a leading manufacturer of precision engineering components for the automotive and industrial sectors, has successfully relocated its business operations from Faridabad Unit 1 to the newly operational Faridabad Units 2 and 3. This strategic move, completed in 2025, underscores the company’s commitment to improving operational efficiency, enhancing productivity, and reducing overall costs as part of its growth and expansion plans.

Key Highlights of the Relocation:

The company shifted its operations from the older Faridabad Unit 1 to the newly commissioned Units 2 and 3 in Faridabad, Haryana.

Faridabad Unit 3 has commenced commercial operations, adding crucial production capacity.

The relocation is expected to streamline manufacturing processes, enabling enhanced workflow and better product quality.

This move aligns with Craftsman Automation's broader strategy to strengthen its manufacturing footprint and meet increasing customer demand.

Upgraded facilities at Units 2 and 3 incorporate modern technology and efficient layout design to support future scalability.

The company anticipates significant cost savings through operational optimization and reduced overhead expenses.

This transition is part of Craftsman’s continued expansion, alongside simultaneous investments in greenfield plants at other locations.

Detailed Overview of the Strategic Relocation

Rationale for the Move

Craftsman Automation’s relocation to Faridabad Units 2 and 3 is driven by the need for advanced manufacturing infrastructure to support the company’s growing order book and evolving product portfolio. The shift to modern facilities enables improved process integration, automation capabilities, and adherence to stringent quality standards essential for serving the automotive powertrain and industrial customers.

Operational Benefits

With the start of full-fledged operations at Faridabad Unit 3, the company benefits from state-of-the-art equipment and optimized workflows that reduce production lead times and enhance workforce productivity. The new layout fosters smoother material handling and quality control processes, facilitating higher throughput and better delivery performance.

Financial and Cost Impact

The relocation is anticipated to generate substantial cost efficiencies, including lower energy consumption, reduced wastage, and economies of scale in procurement and maintenance. By consolidating operations in two upgraded units, Craftsman Automation expects to streamline resource utilization and minimize fixed costs, contributing positively to the bottom line.

Integration with Overall Expansion Strategy

This operational shift complements Craftsman Automation’s ongoing capacity expansion plans that encompass new plants in Bhiwadi, Pune, Chennai (Sriperumbudur), and overseas acquisitions. Such investments aim to bolster the company’s position as a leading supplier of aluminum die-casting and machined components in the demanding automotive and industrial sectors nationally and globally.

Commitment to Sustainability and Innovation

The Faridabad units have integrated energy-efficient systems and pollution control measures, reflecting Craftsman’s focus on sustainable manufacturing practices. The upgraded facilities also support the company’s digital transformation initiatives, including automated storage and retrieval systems and quality monitoring technologies.

Summary

Craftsman Automation Limited’s successful relocation of its operations to Faridabad Units 2 and 3 marks a crucial step in boosting manufacturing efficiency, cost management, and capacity enhancement. With Faridabad Unit 3 now operational, the company is well-positioned to meet growing customer requirements while maintaining high standards of quality and sustainability. This strategic move reinforces Craftsman’s commitment to operational excellence and long-term growth as it continues to expand its manufacturing footprint across India.
