Crossing the 166-Crore Mark: How Yash’s 'Toxic' is Maintaining Box Office Momentum

Yash's pan-India action drama 'Toxic' maintains steady box office traction, crossing ₹166 crore net in India despite softer early morning collections on Day 4.

MUMBAI — Actor Yash’s high-profile action thriller Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has crossed the ₹166.35-crore domestic net milestone following its opening weekend run. Directed by Geetu Mohandas and featuring an ensemble cast including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, and Huma Qureshi, the film recorded approximately ₹0.72 crore in early morning and matinee shows across India on its fourth day. Released theatrically on August 26, 2026, the multi-lingual project continues to draw localized footfalls across key urban centers, though overall collections have cooled off following an aggressive opening-day surge.

Box Office Trajectory and Language Performance

Tracking data indicates that Toxic accumulated a cumulative net collection of ₹166.35 crore across all domestic languages by the close of its third day, backed by strong initial momentum in the Hindi and Kannada markets. While early morning tracking on Day 4 reflected a slower start with roughly ₹0.72 crore registered from initial shows, trade analysts anticipate a late-evening pickup as weekend audiences head to cinema halls. The film's worldwide gross has steadily climbed past ₹221.45 crore, bolstered by stable overseas contributions from North American and Middle Eastern territories.

Production Scale and Critical Reception

The Geetu Mohandas directorial marked Yash’s much-anticipated return to the big screen following the historic box office run of KGF: Chapter 2. Built on a grand scale, the film opened to a mixed critical reception, which led to a natural tapering of weekday occupancies after a massive ₹101.10-crore opening day. Despite the moderated pace on its fourth day, studio distributors remain optimistic that family audiences during the weekend frame will help stabilize overall theatrical earnings.
