Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar is surging through its opening weekend with strong word-of-mouth and rising day-on-day earnings. Early reports peg Sunday as the film’s biggest day, pushing the three-day total toward—or past—the ₹100 crore mark. The performance cements a robust start despite a lengthy runtime and stiff December competition.

Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar has enjoyed a sharp upward trajectory through its first three days, with early trade updates indicating a bumper Sunday and an opening weekend flirting with—or crossing—the ₹100 crore milestone in India. Live trackers flagged the film “all set” for a ₹100 crore opening weekend as Sunday momentum kicked in. DNA later reported the film minted ₹40 crore on Sunday, taking the three-day India net to ₹100 crore, signaling a decisive first-weekend landmarkDNA India. Some outlets maintained the movie was “nearing” ₹100 crore as of Sunday evening, reflecting the usual variance across early estimates versus final tallies.

Notably, several reports cited a strong Friday start, enhanced Saturday pickup, and a further Sunday jump—consistent with positive word-of-mouth for Aditya Dhar’s gritty spy-action packaging. As is typical, final weekend numbers may consolidate slightly once national estimates and actuals are reconciled overnight.

Important points

Weekend trajectory: Strong Friday-to-Sunday growth driven by positive word-of-mouth and premium-format occupancy.

Runtime resilience: The extended runtime did not dampen turnout in metros, with evening and night shows holding well.

Genre advantage: Spy-action spectacle, scale, and ensemble cast have broadened appeal beyond core fan bases.

Estimates vs actuals: Late-Sunday updates vary across trackers; consolidated figures usually land by Monday morning.

Forward outlook: A solid Monday hold will be key to sustaining momentum into the second week amid heavy December releases.

Notable updates

Milestone chatter: Multiple outlets indicated Dhurandhar was “eyeing” or had “crossed” ₹100 crore by end of Day 3, with Sunday business the swing factor.

Market mix: Metros led the surge; Tier-1 circuits showed robust evening trends as reviews amplified late-weekend demand.

Competitive frame: December slate remains crowded, but Dhurandhar’s opening has established runway for continued playability.

Conclusion

Whether it “nears” or “crosses” ₹100 crore, Dhurandhar’s opening weekend shows star power and word-of-mouth can overcome runtime and competition. Final audited figures will settle the milestone debate, but the momentum is undeniable—and sets up a crucial Monday test for long-term legs.
