Exicom Tele-Systems Limited, a prominent player in advanced electronic manufacturing and energy storage solutions, has announced its strategic support for Charger on Wheels, an innovative startup specializing in mobile electric vehicle (EV) charging services. This partnership marks a significant step forward in promoting accessible and flexible charging infrastructure, crucial for accelerating India’s transition to electric mobility.

Key Highlights:

Exicom Tele-Systems Ltd has extended technological and financial backing to Charger on Wheels, enabling the startup to scale its operations and enhance its fleet of mobile EV charging units.

Charger on Wheels offers on-demand EV charging services, deploying mobile charging vans equipped with high-capacity batteries and cutting-edge charging technology to service electric vehicles at any location.

The collaboration leverages Exicom’s expertise in battery management systems, energy storage, and EV charging innovations, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability for mobile units.

This initiative addresses major challenges faced by EV owners, such as limited fixed charging stations and “range anxiety,” by bringing convenient charging solutions directly to customers’ doorsteps or parking spaces.

Both companies emphasized their commitment to sustainability and reducing carbon footprints, aligning with India’s national goals of promoting clean energy and reducing vehicular emissions.

Exicom’s support is expected to expedite Charger on Wheels’ expansion plans across major urban and semi-urban centers, enhancing EV adoption by easing infrastructure bottlenecks.

The joint venture includes ongoing research and development efforts to improve battery efficiency, charging speed, and service scalability, emphasizing user-friendly digital platforms for booking and tracking.

Exicom Tele-Systems’ leadership stated that backing startups like Charger on Wheels complements their broader vision of driving innovation and sustainability in the EV ecosystem.

Market and Strategic Outlook:

India’s EV market is projected to grow rapidly under favorable policies and incentives, but infrastructure constraints remain a key hurdle; mobile EV charging solutions represent a practical, scalable response to this issue.

The partnership between an established industry leader like Exicom and a nimble startup like Charger on Wheels balances expertise and agility, potentially setting a new standard for EV charging services.

Such innovations are poised to improve the urban commuting experience, reduce environmental impact, and foster investor confidence in India’s electric mobility landscape.
