India’s fintech division has topped startup funding in 2025 so far with $1.29 billion, leaving retail ($463 million) and consumer startups ($438 million) far behind, according to Tracxn data. Having fewer deals than consumer startups, which led with 92 rounds, fintech saw the maximum investments since it is all about profitability and new-fangled solutions like embedded finance and AI-based offerings.
Key contributors include Oxyzo, which in February raised $1 billion in traditional debt, and Udaan with equity capital of $75 million. This is a trend that warrants strong investor confidence in financial services and digital innovation.
Fintech investment is also expected to continue expanding as start-ups are focusing on sustainable expansion and unit economics. Adoption is being driven by government policies like Digital India and UPI, and the space is going to witness revolutionary expansion in 2025.
