The auspicious month of Sawan (Shravan) 2025, dedicated entirely to Lord Shiva, is nearing its culminating event with the fourth and final Sawan Somwar (Monday) falling on August 4, 2025. This day holds deep spiritual significance for devotees who observe fasts, perform special pujas, and seek the blessings of Lord Shiva for prosperity, peace, and happiness. As the last Sawan Somwar of the year, this occasion is an ideal moment to express devotion and share heartfelt greetings with friends and family through wishes, messages, images, and WhatsApp statuses.

Key Highlights of the Fourth Sawan Somwar 2025

The Fourth Sawan Somwar will be observed on Monday, August 4, 2025, marking the last Monday fast in the sacred Shravan month that spans from July 11 to August 9 in North India.

Devotees traditionally fast on this day until evening, perform Jalabhishek (holy water pouring) on Shiva Lingams in temples or at home, and recite mantras like the Maha Mrityunjaya or Rudra Stotra to invoke divine blessings.

The day is known for spiritual growth and is believed to wash away sins, promote mental peace, cure ailments, and grant wishes.

Cultural and Religious Significance

Sawan Somwar Vrat constitutes a major part of the sixteen Mondays (Solah Somwar) during the Shravan month, a highly revered pilgrimage period in Hinduism dedicated to worshipping Lord Shiva.

The fasting and prayers symbolize devotion and humility before Shiva, who embodies destruction and transformation, ultimately paving the way for new beginnings.

Offering Bilva leaves, milk, flowers, and fruits during the ritual amplifies merit and divine grace.

The Jalabhishek muhurat on this day, especially early morning Brahma Muhurat (around 4:20 AM to 5:02 AM) and Abhijit Muhurat (around 2:42 PM to 3:36 PM), is considered extremely propitious for spiritual activities.
