The event, hosted by SRM College of Agricultural Sciences (SRMIST-KTR) in association with the Isha Save Soil Movement, brought together farmers, women entrepreneurs, researchers, government officials, and agri-innovators across Tamil Nadu.

The festival focused on fostering sustainable farming, natural agriculture practices, and empowering entrepreneurs for future-ready agriculture.

A Platform for Exchange and Empowerment

Agri Startup Festival 2.0 opened its doors to over a thousand participants, offering an interactive stage for knowledge-sharing and networking.

Farmers, youth, and women were encouraged to collaborate with research institutions, startups, and industry leaders, fueling the search for lasting solutions to agricultural sustainability and rural advancement.

Extension experts from the Directorate of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Government of India, including Mr. N. Selvam, shared insights on elevating organic produce and natural farming techniques.

The Save Soil Movement and Its Lasting Impact

The Isha Save Soil Movement, active for almost three decades in Tamil Nadu, showcased revitalization strategies for degraded soils and toxin-free food production.

Farmers trained under this program have benefited from chemical-free, cost-effective natural farming methods.

Forty-seven research centers and two model farms in Thiruvannamalai and Coimbatore featured demonstrations of high-yield sustainable farming.

The movement boasts more than ₹10 crore worth of naturally grown produce sold, impacting 11,500 farmers and rejuvenating 60,000 acres of farmland.

Cholamandalam Investment’s Commitment

Cholamandalam Investment, through CSR leadership, highlighted the central role of doubling farmer incomes and technological adoption in making India a true agriculture powerhouse by 2040.

Mr. Kumar underscored: innovation, extensive farmer training, transfer of modern natural farming practices, and expanded market linkages must work in tandem to secure prosperity for rural communities.

Public-private collaboration and community engagement formed recurring themes, with Cholamandalam pledging sustained support for agri-entrepreneurship.

Achievements and Vision for 2047

Leaders at SRMIST, such as Prof. C. Muthamizhchelvan, championed the necessity of agriculture for life and national prosperity by 2047.

Investment in research, agri-technology, and startup incubation, as practiced by SRM College of Agricultural Sciences, promises continuous empowerment and improved food security.

The institution supports advanced curriculum, agricultural software training (GIS applications), and groundbreaking research, building a talent pipeline for future farm innovators.

Agri Startup Festival 2.0 in Action

Live pitching sessions, exhibitions, and workshops showcased new agri-tech solutions and rural business models.

Farmers and students interacted with mentors and senior government officials, sparking ideas for sustainable practices and agri-business scaling.

Emphasis was placed on cross-disciplinary extension activities and collaborative projects to nurture rural economies, advanced farm management tools, and toxin-free food access.

Looking Ahead: India’s Agricultural Promise

All speakers stressed that continuous innovation, policy support, education, and community training are key to cementing India’s place as the world’s agriculture engine.

The festival marked a turning point in collective efforts to reimagine Indian farming as a source of prosperity, health, and sustainable solutions for future generations.
