Key Highlights: Timing, Road Closures, and Affected Areas

Traffic restrictions will be strictly enforced between 8:30 AM and 2:30 PM across several critical routes in Bengaluru, covering both central and Electronic City areas.

Major roads closed include:

Marenahalli Main Road from Rajalakshmi Junction to Marenahalli 18th Main Road.

Marenahalli East End Main Road Junction to Aravind Junction.

Silk Board junction towards Hosur Road via the Electronic City Elevated Flyover, and Hosur Road itself in both directions, including the stretch from Hosur to Bengaluru city.

Electronic City Phase 1 will see closures on key internal roads like Infosys Avenue, Velankani Road, and HP Avenue Road.

Parking will be prohibited on Marenahalli Main Road, 4th Main Road, and 18th Main Road during the advisory period.

PM Modi’s Visit Itinerary and Its Impact on Traffic

The Prime Minister is expected to arrive at 10:30 AM at HAL Airport and then travel via helicopter and road to the KSR Bengaluru City Railway Station to flag off new Vande Bharat Express trains.

He will then proceed to Ragigudda Metro Station on the Yellow Line at around 11:45 AM, take a metro ride to Electronic City, and subsequently visit the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-B) Bengaluru to inaugurate the Yellow Line Metro extension and lay the foundation stone for Phase 3 of the metro project.

The PM will leave the city by helicopter at about 2:45 PM, which means the traffic management window has been extended to cover pre- and post-event movements.

Alternative Routes Suggested to Commuters

To ease congestion and ensure smooth mobility, commuters are urged to use the following alternatives:

For traveling from Rajalakshmi Junction to Jayadeva Hospital, use Sarakki Market Road, 9th Cross Road, IG Circle, and RV Dental Junction.

To reach Bannerghatta Road, divert from Sarakki Junction via Outer Ring Road.

From East End Circle to Banashankari, use 29th Main Road, 28th Main Road, Delmia Junction, Outer Ring Road, Sarakki Junction, and Kanakapura Road.

Those commuting towards Kanakapura, Mysuru, and Tumakuru roads via Hosur Road should take Jigani Road, Bommasandra Junction, and connect to NICE Road.

Traveling from NICE Road to Hosur Road requires exit at Bannerghatta Junction, using Jigani Road and Bommasandra Junction.

To access Sarjapur, Varthur, Whitefield, and Hoskote from Hosur, use Dommasandra Road via Chandapura Junction.

Commuters from HSR Layout, Koramangala, Bellandur, and Whitefield heading to Hosur should use Sarjapur Road via Chandapura.

In Electronic City Phase 1, alternate roads like 2nd Cross Road, Shikaripalya Road, Hulimangala Road, and Gollahalli Road are recommended.

Additional Advisory Points

Parking restrictions will be strictly implemented on the main impacted stretches to prevent obstructions.

The police have advised travelers to plan journeys well ahead, use public transport where possible, and stay updated through official Bengaluru Traffic Police social media channels.

Authorities expect significant crowds and encourage motorists to avoid the restricted areas to minimize traffic snarls.

Purpose and Importance of Restrictions

These traffic control measures are vital to ensure the security and mobility of the Prime Minister and to manage the large influx of people attending the inauguration of the Yellow Line of Namma Metro and the launch of Vande Bharat Express trains.

The arrangements also reflect coordination between city police, traffic authorities, and event organizers to minimize disruption while prioritizing public safety.

Conclusion

Bengaluru residents and commuters should expect major traffic re-routing and road closures on August 10 from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM owing to PM Narendra Modi’s visit. Using alternate routes, cooperating with police directions, and preparing for travel delays will help mitigate the impact of this crucial event on daily transportation. This advisory underscores the city’s readiness to host a key national leader while managing urban mobility challenges efficiently.
