Reel Regrets: Acting Coach Says Triptii Dimri Strayed Off Script Post-‘Animal’

Triptii Dimri, hailed for her compelling performances in films like ‘Animal’, has faced mixed reactions for the projects she chose thereafter, according to her acting coach and co-star, Saurabh Sachdeva. Speaking candidly in recent interviews, Saurabh elaborated on the pressure and complexities actors face in selecting roles and how Triptii’s choices post-‘Animal’ did not quite match her calibre despite her unwavering talent and dedication.

Key Highlights: The Struggle Behind the Spotlight

Triptii’s breakout success came with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’, after which she starred in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’, and ‘Bad Newz’ during 2024.

While ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ was a blockbuster hit, the other films underperformed or did not resonate strongly with critics and audiences, leading to perceptions that they didn’t do justice to Triptii’s acting prowess.

Her comeback in ‘Dhadak 2’ was widely appreciated, showcasing her strong acting skills and reaffirming her position as a talented actress capable of carrying complex roles.

Saurabh Sachdeva emphasized in an interview with Hindustan Times and News18 that the core issue was not her ability but the selection of films that “didn’t work well.”

The Coach’s Perspective: Talent Endures Beyond Flawed Choices

Saurabh praised Triptii as a wonderful actor who looks great on camera, is hardworking, vulnerable, sensitive, and easy to work with — noting that she is free from diva-like behaviour on set.

He pointed out that making the right choices is crucial for an actor’s career, and it is a learning process that includes knowing when to take difficult decisions.

Highlighting the pressures actors face, he mentioned the influences of managers, PR, financial considerations, and the constant need to outperform prior work, all of which complicate decision-making.

Saurabh, with experience in major projects like ‘Sacred Games’ and training over a thousand actors, conveyed that even great performers like Irrfan Khan may falter when a film’s subject or execution doesn’t align well.

He expressed pride in Triptii and other actors he has mentored, who bring unique energies and authenticity to their craft without imitating others.

Career Implications and Upcoming Projects

Despite setbacks, Triptii’s growth as a performer remains intact, and her recent success suggests she is choosing roles more wisely.

She is set to appear in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Spirit’ opposite Prabhas, which is highly anticipated, potentially marking another significant milestone.

‘Dhadak 2’, released in August 2025, also features Saurabh Sachdeva as a co-actor, highlighting their continued professional collaboration and mutual support.

Understanding Actor’s Choices: Industry Realities

Saurabh’s reflections shed light on the complex dynamics influencing an actor’s trajectory — where talent alone does not guarantee success without strategic and sometimes difficult film selections.

He advocates that learning to navigate these choices is part of an actor’s maturation and development in the industry.

This insight fosters empathy for actors managing expectations, market pressures, and career sustainability while remaining true to their art.

Conclusion

Triptii Dimri’s acting coach Saurabh Sachdeva’s candid remarks underscore the nuanced journey of an actor striving to find the right projects in a competitive film landscape. His recognition of her talent amid criticism about movie choices reflects the challenges performers face balancing artistic integrity and commercial viability. Triptii’s resurgence in ‘Dhadak 2’ and forthcoming projects signal a promising path ahead as she hones her craft and curates roles that reflect her true capabilities.
