World No. 1 Jannik Sinner will face Casper Ruud in the Italian Open 2026 men’s singles final at Rome’s iconic Foro Italico on Sunday, May 17. For Indian tennis fans, the blockbuster ATP Masters 1000 title clash will be a prime-time affair, with the match scheduled to start at 8:30 PM IST and streamed live on FanCode.

Sinner, chasing a historic home title and a rare Masters Grand Slam double-season, enters the final after outlasting Daniil Medvedev, while clay specialist Ruud has battled his way through the draw with trademark grit. Beyond the trophy, there’s a bigger storyline: Sinner has the chance to become the first Italian man in 50 years to win the Rome Masters and to join Novak Djokovic in a very exclusive multiple-Masters champion club this early in a career.

When And Where Is The Final

The Italian Open 2026 final between Jannik Sinner and Casper Ruud will be played on Sunday, May 17, on Campo Centrale at the Foro Italico in Rome, Italy. The showdown is slated to begin at 5:00 PM local time (CET), which translates to 8:30 PM IST for viewers in India. While the men’s final is the last big match of the tournament, it also serves as a key tune-up for the French Open and Wimbledon that follow on the calendar.

How To Watch The Italian Open 2026 Final In India

There will be no live TV broadcast of the Sinner vs Ruud Italian Open final on traditional sports channels in India. Instead, the match will be available via digital-only coverage: Indian viewers can watch the final live through the FanCode app and website, which hold the streaming rights for the tournament in the country. Fans just need a stable internet connection, a FanCode account and, where applicable, an active pass or subscription to stream the match on mobile, laptop or smart TV.

What’s At Stake In Sinner Vs Ruud

For Sinner, a title in Rome would be both emotional and historic: a home Masters 1000 crown in front of a packed Italian crowd, plus significant ranking points in the build-up to Roland Garros. For Ruud, one of the most consistent clay-courters of his generation, this final is another shot at a big Masters title and a psychological boost ahead of the Grand Slam swing. Stylistically, expect Sinner’s aggressive baseline firepower and improved court coverage to clash with Ruud’s heavy topspin, depth and tactical patience on clay.
