Snowflake has announced its intent to acquire Observe, an AI-powered observability startup, to enhance its AI Data Cloud. The deal, subject to regulatory approval, will integrate Observe’s telemetry management tools—logs, metrics, and traces—into Snowflake’s platform, enabling enterprises to achieve unified observability, proactive troubleshooting, and cost-efficient data management at scale.

Snowflake, the cloud data giant, is expanding its footprint in AI-driven observability with the acquisition of Observe, a platform specializing in monitoring enterprise systems through advanced telemetry data. The move underscores Snowflake’s strategy to position its AI Data Cloud as a comprehensive solution for both business analytics and IT operations.

By integrating Observe’s technology, Snowflake aims to provide enterprises with a scalable architecture built on open standards such as Apache Iceberg and OpenTelemetry. This will allow organizations to ingest, store, and analyze petabytes of logs, metrics, and traces, while applying AI tools for real-time insights and automated troubleshooting.

Snowflake’s CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy emphasized that observability is fundamentally a data problem, and the acquisition will help customers reduce costs by up to 60% while improving resilience and confidence in running production applications.
