The Five-Crore Scholar: Inside Zaid Khan’s Journey to IIM Bangalore

Zaid Khan, a 25-year-old entrepreneur and founder of Zedital Media, amassed a net worth of approximately ₹5 crore after earning his first crore at age 22. Despite running a thriving advertising firm, he recently enrolled at IIM Bangalore to bridge academic gaps, sharing vital startup lessons during a viral podcast appearance.

How a young entrepreneur who crossed the crorepati milestone at age 22 chose to return to academic halls to strengthen his business foundation.

In a compelling story that bridges grassroots hustle with elite management education, Zaid Khan has captured national attention as a rare breed of student. Rising from a middle-class family that initially steered him toward traditional medical studies, the 25-year-old entrepreneur built a flourishing media enterprise—Zedital Media Private Limited—and accumulated an estimated net worth of ₹5 crore through business revenues and strategic real estate investments. Speaking recently on The Crore Club podcast, Khan revealed how he crossed the crorepati milestone at just 22 years old in 2023. Despite managing a profitable corporation, Khan made the deliberate decision to enroll as a student at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore, demonstrating that continuous learning remains vital even after achieving major financial success.

From NEET Aspirant to Digital Media Founder

Khan's professional trajectory represents a sharp pivot from conventional expectations. Growing up in a middle-class environment where peers and family members strongly advocated for traditional medicine or engineering paths, Khan chose to rebel against standard entrance exam pressures. Transitioning silently into freelance digital projects and collaborating with content creators, he earned early validation when a project for a California-based influencer brought his first significant payout.

With the support of his family, he redirected his focus toward journalism and mass communication, arming himself with a basic DSLR camera to launch an independent production venture. That initial enterprise eventually evolved into Zedital Media, a specialized agency providing comprehensive digital services, including:

Brand Strategy & Personal Branding: Developing customized digital identities for public figures and corporate executives.
Meme Marketing & Content Distribution: Executing targeted organic visibility campaigns across social media channels.
Online Reputation Management (ORM): Safeguarding and elevating digital footprints for prominent clients.
Profile Amplification Management (PAM): Enhancing professional authority on corporate networking platforms like LinkedIn.

Balancing Enterprise Leadership with B-School Rigor

During his appearance on The Crore Club, podcast host Shreya Hegde highlighted the stark contrast between Khan’s lived experience and that of his peers, noting that many management graduates spend months preparing intensely for campus placements yielding fixed corporate packages. Addressing aspiring founders, Khan emphasized core entrepreneurial principles: starting small by selling tangible skills—even for nominal amounts—to build confidence, and maintaining an active online identity because "content is your digital currency".

Explaining his rationale for joining IIM Bangalore at the peak of his company's growth, Khan candidly noted that academic frameworks represented an area where he felt additional polish was necessary. By absorbing formal management theories and instantly applying them to his active business operations, Khan aims to steer his enterprise toward sustainable, long-term institutional scaling.

Why It Matters

For young professionals, students, and emerging business founders, Khan's journey illustrates the shifting paradigms of modern career success in India. By demonstrating that practical digital skills, early risk-taking, and formal management education can complement one another, his story offers a modern blueprint for balancing enterprise growth with continuous self-improvement.
