The entertainment industry today is abuzz with high-profile debuts and deeply personal family conflicts. Aryan Khan’s anticipated web series brings Bollywood royalty back into the spotlight, while Sunjay Kapur’s family drama unveils the complexities behind legacy and bereavement. Here...

Key Highlights

Aryan Khan’s Directorial Debut Gets the Spotlight

Aryan Khan, son of superstar Shah Rukh Khan, has grabbed headlines with the release of the first look of his debut web series, reportedly titled “The Ba***ds of Bollywood.” Aryan’s decision to step behind the camera, rather than follow his father and sister into acting, has piqued industry interest. The teaser reveal on August 17 showcased Aryan’s narration, reminiscent of his father’s iconic style, and ended with an exciting glimpse of him introducing the series.

Notably, Aryan’s rumoured girlfriend, Brazilian model-actor Larissa Bonesi, poured praise on social media, calling him “unstoppable, unmatched, and truly World's #1,” with her enthusiastic shout-out being reshared by Aryan himself. Their mutual admiration continues fueling speculation about their relationship, already stoked by past public events and social media interactions. The series — in development for over a year — promises star-studded cameos from Bollywood luminaries including Bobby Deol, Ranbir Kapoor, Salman Khan, Karan Johar, and Ranveer Singh. The series is scheduled for release later in 2025, sparking anticipation from both fans and fellow celebrities alike.

Sunjay Kapur Legacy Dispute Intensifies

A deeply personal drama is unfolding within the Kapur family after the death of Sunjay Kapur, former head of Sona Comstar. His sister, Mandhira Kapur Smith, publicly disclosed a bitter inheritance feud and feelings of exclusion that have clouded the family’s grief. Within days of Sunjay’s passing, Mandhira alleges that she, her mother Rani Kapur, and her sister have effectively been sidelined from the company, despite their lifelong involvement.

Mandhira expressed that her mother, now 80, had been instrumental in supporting the family’s legacy, but now feels “confused,” having lost not only her son but her place in a business she helped build. Sunjay’s widow, Priya Sachdev Kapur, was recently appointed as a director of the company, adding fuel to the controversy. Mandhira voiced concerns over public acknowledgments, noting that family members were omitted from obituaries. The feud is complicated further by suspicions regarding Sunjay’s death and claims of coercion regarding family assets. Discussions among the family remain focused on finding peace and honoring the legacy of their late father, Surinder Kapur.
