Chinese smartphone giant Vivo has significantly enhanced its mid-premium segment in India by launching the Vivo V60 series, marking a successor to the earlier Vivo V50 released earlier this year. The new V60 lineup brings notable upgrades in design, camera technology, performance, and battery life, catering to consumers seeking premium features at competitive prices. The smartphones will be available starting August 19, 2025, through Vivo’s official website, major e-commerce platforms like Flipkart and Amazon, and partner retail outlets.

Pricing and Variants:

The Vivo V60 series is offered in multiple configurations to suit varied customer needs. The base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage starts at ₹36,999. Higher variants include 8GB RAM with 256GB storage priced at ₹38,999, 12GB RAM with 256GB storage at ₹40,999, and the top-tier 16GB RAM with 512GB storage at ₹45,999.

Display and Design:

The V60 sports a large 6.77-inch quad-curved AMOLED display featuring 1.5K resolution, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and an impressive peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits for excellent outdoor visibility. The phone offers a sleek and lightweight form factor, with thickness ranging from 7.65mm to 7.75mm and weight between 192g and 201g depending on the colour variant (Mist Grey, Auspicious Gold, and Moonlit Blue). It is touted as India’s slimmest smartphone with a sizable 6500mAh battery.

Performance and Software:

Powering the Vivo V60 is the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor based on the energy-efficient 4nm fabrication process. The device runs on Vivo’s Funtouch OS 15 built on Android 15, promising four major Android updates and six years of security patches—a strong commitment to software longevity. The phone includes up to 16GB LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage for fast performance.

Camera System:

The Vivo V60 shines with its Zeiss co-developed triple rear camera setup:

50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor with optical image stabilisation
50MP Sony IMX882 telephoto lens supporting up to 10x zoom
8MP ultra-wide-angle lens

For selfies, it features a 50MP front-facing camera with autofocus. Both front and rear cameras support 4K video recording. The phone also delivers advanced AI-powered imaging tools such as AI Image Expander, AI Smart Call Assistant, AI Captions, and an exclusive ‘Wedding vLog’ feature tailored for India’s wedding photography culture.

Battery and Charging:

The large 6500mAh battery enables all-day use, supported by a powerful 90W wired fast charging technology that allows rapid top-ups. The smartphone also supports reverse charging.

Durability:

With IP68 and IP69 certifications, the Vivo V60 is protected against dust ingress and can withstand submersion in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes, adding premium-grade resilience.

Additional Features:

The phone includes an in-display optical fingerprint sensor, advanced AI capabilities including Gemini-powered features for enhanced interface interactions like circle to search and real-time translation, and comprehensive connectivity options including NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, USB-C v2.0, and support for a broad spectrum of 5G bands.

Strategic and Market Context:

The Vivo V60 launch follows the impressive performance of the V50 and caters to India’s growing middle and upper-middle-class consumers seeking blend of style, performance, and camera prowess in smartphones priced under ₹50,000.

Vivo currently leads the Indian smartphone market with a 19% share as of Q2 2025, according to IDC, powered by strong offline and online retail presence and innovative product launches.

The handset is manufactured at Vivo’s Greater Noida facility, which employs approximately 8,000 workers, underlining Vivo’s commitment to local production and ‘Make in India’ initiatives.

Availability and Purchase Channels:

Sales for the Vivo V60 start from August 19, 2025.

Available for purchase via Vivo’s official website, major e-commerce portals including Flipkart and Amazon, and across partner retail stores nationwide.

In summary, the Vivo V60 series introduces powerful new capabilities to the mid-premium smartphone market in India with its slim design, cutting-edge camera technology co-developed with Zeiss, robust Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset performance, and industry-leading battery life and durability. Priced reasonably between ₹36,999 to ₹45,999 for varying configurations, the V60 aims to continue Vivo’s stronghold in India by delivering compelling features for photography enthusiasts and performance seekers alike.
