Paurav Rastogi, a VIT Vellore civil engineer and former OYO head of transformation, and Shamin Kapoor, a performance marketing expert from Housing.com, co-founded Speed Kitchen in New Delhi in March 2021. India's first commercial shared kitchen platform, Speed Kitchen powers 50-plus brands including Haldiram's, Chaayos, and Daryaganj across Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, and Delhi NCR, generated ₹10.85 crore in FY23 with ₹1.11 crore profit, secured a ₹2 crore Shark Tank deal from three Sharks, and is targeting ₹500 to ₹1,000 crore long-term.
London, OYO, Housing.com, and Two Friends Who Decided India Deserved Better Infrastructure for Food Dreams
Paurav Rastogi's path to co-founding Speed Kitchen was built on a unique combination of proptech expertise and hospitality experience. He completed his BTech in Civil Engineering from VIT Vellore and then joined OYO as Head of Transformation, where he developed an intimate understanding of how real estate, compliance, and operational infrastructure interact in hospitality. While working in the UK, he witnessed the rise of the cloud kitchen model and saw how it had simplified the process for food entrepreneurs dramatically.
Shamin Kapoor brought a complementary skill set. A sales and marketing professional with over five years of experience building tech startups, he had honed his skills in performance marketing at Housing.com, developing the digital and commercial expertise that would later power Speed Kitchen's brand-side growth.
The two childhood friends from Delhi had always shared one dream: to build something in food. But when they finally decided to act on that dream, reality intervened. Finding the perfect location was nearly impossible. Negotiating with landlords was painful. Managing compliances was complex. The upfront capital required in CAPEX and OPEX was overwhelming.
"When the two friends realised how big this gap was in India, they decided to bring the concept home, giving it an Indian touch to suit local needs," Speed Kitchen's official story describes.
In March 2021, they launched Speed Kitchen in New Delhi as India's first commercial shared kitchen space, operating under FFT Cloud India Private Limited with CIN U55101DL2022PTC398072 incorporated May 10, 2022, backed early by Inflection Point Ventures in a seed round.
The Strategic Genius — ₹10.85 Crore FY23 Revenue, Profitable, 200-Plus Kitchens, the Ambani Wedding, and Skope Kitchens
The boldest business decision Speed Kitchen made was to build a genuinely plug-and-play kitchen infrastructure that reduced the time to launch from months to four days. A food brand approaching Speed Kitchen receives a fully equipped, licensed, delivery-optimised commercial kitchen space in a prime location across Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, and Delhi NCR, with all compliance requirements handled, operational support provided, and infrastructure maintained, on an MG plus revenue share model that eliminates the need for large upfront investments.
Unlike many cash-burning startups in India's foodtech space, Speed Kitchen built a genuinely profitable business from early. The company reported revenue of ₹10.85 crore and a profit of ₹1.11 crore for FY2023, confirming that the model was commercially sound before the brand ever walked into Shark Tank.
The client roster confirms the quality of its infrastructure. Haldiram's, Chaayos, and Daryaganj all operate from Speed Kitchen locations. The brand also catered the Ambani wedding alongside celebrity Chef Ritu Dalmia, confirming its capability to service the very highest tier of food events in the country.
In June 2026, Speed Kitchen announced a strategic partnership with Skope Kitchens, combining Speed Kitchen's real estate and location expertise with Skope's operational technology and process systems.
"At Speed Kitchen, our vision has always been to remove every barrier that stands between a food brand and its growth potential. Through this partnership with Skope Kitchens, we are taking a decisive step towards building a truly holistic growth platform," Paurav and Shamin said jointly.
Total funding raised stands at $524,000 across two rounds, with the latest angel round closing January 14, 2025, confirming continued investor confidence post-Shark Tank.

The Most Powerful Infrastructure Brands Are the Ones Built by Founders Who Were the Frustrated Customer First
The sharpest lesson from Speed Kitchen's journey is this: the most defensible infrastructure businesses are the ones built by founders who personally experienced every dimension of the problem they are solving and built the solution they wished had existed when they needed it.
Paurav Rastogi and Shamin Kapoor tried to launch a food brand and discovered the system was working against them. They spent years building the infrastructure expertise at OYO and Housing.com respectively. And when they returned to the original dream, they built the thing that would have changed everything for them: a fully equipped, compliant, ready-to-operate kitchen that launches a food brand in four days instead of four months.
That conviction built ₹10.85 crore in revenue before Shark Tank. It catered an Ambani wedding. It powered Haldiram's cloud operations. It attracted three Sharks simultaneously. It generated more inquiries in one weekend than a full year of conventional marketing.
"Our vision has always been to remove every barrier that stands between a food brand and its growth potential," they say.
From a childhood dream of a restaurant to India's first shared commercial kitchen. From 14 locations at Shark Tank to 20 by April 2025 and 200 locations on the horizon. From two friends and a shared love of food to a ₹500 to ₹1,000 crore long-term ambition.
India's food entrepreneurs are cooking faster for it.
