The system comes with 3 feet of steel braided Teflon hose, to connect the system to the engine. Optional longer hoses are available. Before mounting, find the oil galley connection point of the engines oiling system, so that you can verify that the hose will reach from the galley connection to the point where the cylinder will be mounted.
Since the system works like a "dry sump", the closer to vertical the cylinder is installed the better. The cylinder can be mounted at an angle of up to 20 degrees, with the valve & solenoid assembly down.
The system uses three aviation quality, heavy duty rubber band mounting clamps. These clamps are also optionally available in Stainless Steel.
Any pressurized oil galley access port... they are usually located around the oil filter mounting area. Simply remove the oil sender and install a "T" fitting.
On marine applications there are extra ports on the "Remote Oil Filter" mounting assembly.
If the system is to be used as an Accumulator, the closer to the oil pump the better, with at least a ¼" pipe port or larger, if just for Prelubrication an 1/8" port will work, it will just take longer for pressure to register on the gauge.
This depends upon the amount of room in the engine compartment, or the location that the cylinder will be mounted, access to the oil galleys, and where the switch is mounted.
We have had customers report installations/applications that have taken as little as ½ hour.
Average time with normal hand tools should be 1-2 hours.
MasterLube Kits include a special 3 position switch — Spring loaded in the "ON" position, the center "OFF" position, and a "Locked ON" position.
The electric valve has only 2 wires. One of these wires needs to be grounded, while the other goes to the switch and is connected to the "Switched" +12 volts source (power only when the key/switch is on).
If the system is to be used as an Accumulator, then the switch will need to be left in the "ON" position, allowing the system to stabilize your engines oil pressure.
If used for prelubrication only, then compressed air works fine. There is an air valve/scarred on the fill plug to pressurize the system. Any compressed air source will work, from small electric compressors, or even a hand pump.
If the system is to be used as an Accumulator then some type of "Temperature" stable gas such as Nitrogen, Argon, etc., should be used for best operation.

Customer Stories
"We previously purchasd one of your units and to date have been impressed with it's perfomance. It is installed on a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro drag car that we used to have oil fluctuation problems with. This always occurred after we made a pass as we were decelerating. Many times the oil pressure would approach zero PIS during this period of deceleration. Since we have installed your system we no longer experience this problem. We have tried various other accumulator systems which seem to work for a while but ultimately develop problems and need to be rebuilt. We have recommended your system to others that we race with and know of at least one person that has purchased it."

"You probably don't remember me, but I ordered one of your 3 quart systems a couple of weeks ago and I just got around to installing it yesterday. All went very well with the install, I have it mounted on the core support right next to the radiator on the passenger side. Just wanted to express my total satisfaction with how this product works. Its SOOO nice to fire up the 455 and not hear the motor screaming for oil for that 5-6 seconds while the filter fills and oil finally reaches the main bearings. Problem is, I'll be driving it a lot more now. :-) Thanks for a great product."

"Under hard braking at the top end, the oil pressure would go to almost zero. After installing your MasterLube system, our pressure never drops below 40 PSI — even under the hardest braking. Your system is definitely a bearing saver, and is essentially a 'Dry Sump' for the racer on a budget. I also liked the fact that we can prelube the engine before we start it."
